Semi-Private Wedding Intensive

What happens when you combine the intimate focus of a private session with the energy and excitement of learning in community? Magic!

We are delighted to offer semi-private intensives that make the most of each minute. With a streamlined curriculum and a maximum of three students per class, Maggie is at your side as you immerse yourself in design techniques, explore your signature style, and make lasting connections with fellow sugar artists.

Workshop Content:

Create a single faux tier design that includes:

• Gumpaste flowers: David Austin Rose, Classic Rose, Peony Bud, Hydrangea, Leaves
• Combined decorating techniques: Frills, Rosettes, Bas-relief Molding, Pearls, Wafer Paper Appliqués

Learn from discussions of topics that include:

• Working with color: identifying warm/cool/neutral, matching Pantones, creating a palette
• Meeting with clients: discussing design, preparing for a tasting, structuring and communicating pricing
• Presenting the design: production flow, photography tips, delivering with a CakeSafe, displaying on a cakestand

Make your way to the Classroom at Studio A in charming Old Town Alexandria and have a seat at your fully-equipped workstation. After a morning of gumpaste and conversation, you'll have a full hour to stretch your legs. While you're enjoying lunch at one of the many nearby restaurants, Maggie will prepare for your afternoon session. The time will fly and you'll be amazed by what you can create in just three days!

9am to 4pm each day

The Classroom at Studio A is located in Old Town Alexandria, VA 22314

*Please note that the Classroom is located on the second story and is accessible only by stairs.

All supplies and materials provided for in-class use. 

Cancellation Policy:

• While we are unable to issue refunds, we will do our best to place you in a future workshop if you need to cancel. Just give us a call or send an email to discuss.
• We reserve the right to cancel the workshop at any time due to weather emergencies, illness, venue availability, or other circumstances beyond our control. If we cancel the workshop, we will issue you a full tuition refund.
